What does "Health" mean to you? Lately I have been pre-occupied with my health. I had an appointment with a kidney specialist looming last week. For about two years I have been going to see this specialist because of concerns that my family doctor had about my creatinine levels. Creatinine levels tell us how well the kidneys are working. Prior to coming in for my visit, my doctor sent me to the lab to have some blood tests done and we talked about the results at my visit. The good news is my creatinine is down quite significantly Read more [...]

So my doctor told me I need to have a healthy diet. What exactly does that mean? In my case, it means low-fat, low-sugar and lots of raw, fresh food. At first I felt a little lost, not sure where I would find all this raw, fresh food; then I started going through all of my cookbooks and I found one that I had forgotten I had. It is called, "The Low-Fat Good Food Cookbook" by Martin and Terri Katahn. I don't remember buying this book, but I must have wanted it for some reason, so I started Read more [...]
