Owning a dog is a very long commitment and responsibility.  It is on the same level as having a child.  Dogs depend on you, their master, for their food, water, companionship and of course love.  After owning a dog and living with one for 15 years I can tell you that dogs, like people, respond to love and kindness.  If you treat them well they will treat you well too.  Dogs are always willing and ready to please you and all they ask in return is a pet on the head and a belly rub.  Sheba of Read more [...]

On August 9, 2010, we said goodbye to our dog of 15 years, Sheba.  She was an incredible dog that was destined to become our family pet.  We had never considered having a dog because our middle daughter showed symptoms of allergy to dogs and cats at a very early age.  She would get red watery eyes and then have difficulty breathing when she was around them so we ruled out any furry pets for our children.  Then one day when our youngest daughter was ten years old she greeted me in a very excited Read more [...]
