I am a sixty-something wife and mother of three daughters.

Over the years I have overcome challenges big and small and enjoyed life with a man that I love and with my children whom I also love.

Though my experiences are not unique, sharing them with others will help me to overcome my fear of the Internet and help me to feel more at home in this, the 21st century.

From research and talking with different people, a blog is one way to achieve this.  My goal is to share  parts of my life, share information, learn from others and go forward into the next decade.

Recently I became a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl. She is the only grandchild and I intend to spoil her, in a good way of course, and really enjoy this wonderful time with her.

The next decade will be an education for all of us and I look forward to living it to the fullest!

A Peek at How I Came to be Working Online

It  started on a cold and dark February morning.

I left my house at 6:30am for the 80km drive to my job in the city.

As I approached the city, traffic slowed to a crawl due to an accident on the freeway.

Seemed like every day there was an accident on the freeway, so this was nothing new, but still very frustrating.

Crawling along with hundreds of other cars towards my workplace before sunrise – not what I wanted to be doing.

It was then that I first thought of working from home.

How nice would that be?

How did I get to this place in my life?

To answer that, we have to go back in time just a little.

A Major Decision that Changed Everything

A few years ago we decided to make a major change in our lives.

My husband went back to school and I went back to work after being home with the children for almost eight years.

Six years and three moves later, we were back in the city we call home and my husband had his own  business started and I was working part-time.

A couple of years later, I was left jobless after downsizing and centralizing and was offered a job in a bigger city that was full time and I took it.

We moved again to make the commute easier for both of us. And we left in opposite directions every morning to go to our individual workplaces.

The pay was good, the job was great, but the drive was awful.

It was long, arduous and always had accidents along the way to slow everything down.

This was not how I pictured my life.

Then … again … downsizing and centralizing left me unemployed.

Around this time my husband’s office assistant was leaving and thus I became his new office assistant.

While I love working with my husband and having the luxury of setting our own work schedule and hours, I don’t like the fact that all of our earning power is this one office.

I wanted to diversify, to have some other form of income in addition to our present one to enable us to take time off and not worry about the money we weren’t making by not being in the office.

This Led Me to the Internet

I had no idea of what to do, where to go or how this would enable me to make any money.

After about a year of flitting around, I came across someone who said they were making lots of money on the Internet and they had a system to help anyone who wanted to, to do the same.

I bought in.

While I found the information interesting and at times helpful, I still did not see how I could make money.

I had nothing of value to put on the market. So I kept looking.

As someone who is now over 50 and looking to retire in a few years, I was looking for a product that I could sell while I was still working and eventually have that enhance or replace our income.

My Light Bulb Moment

Eventually I came to realize that through all of my research and through all of my contact with others online, that I do have something of value.

I can help others to shave some time off of the learning curve and get into the game, so to speak.

When I first started I did not know what a capture page was, I had no idea what a blog was and I certainly did not know how to go about getting one. I now have resources available to me that I in turn can pass onto others who are where I was just a couple of years ago.
